Community Guidelines

A starting point for what's expected here — we'll keep this updated as the community grows.

Why we have guidelines

Flavor in Product is a professional space built for career advancement and genuine community. These guidelines exist so every member can show up, ask for help, and be visible without worrying about harassment, spam, or bad-faith behavior. They're a starting point — we'll refine them as the community grows.

Be respectful

Disagree with ideas, not people. Harassment, hate speech, personal attacks, discrimination, and intimidation of any kind aren't allowed, whether directed at another member, a guest, or the team.

No spam or self-promotion spam

Sharing your own work, launches, or opportunities is welcome when it's relevant and occasional. Repeated unsolicited pitches, multi-level marketing, and mass-DM-style self-promotion are not — that's what sponsored placements and the jobs board are for.

Stay on topic

Posts and comments should be relevant to the channel or thread they're in. Off-topic content makes it harder for everyone else to find what they came for.

Don't spread misinformation

Share what you know to be true, and cite sources for claims that aren't common knowledge. Deliberately misleading content — about the product, the community, or anything else — isn't allowed.

Respect what's shared here

Conversations in the community are for members. Don't screenshot or share private discussions, another member's contact details, or event recordings outside the platform without permission.

How reporting works

If a post crosses a line, use the Flag button on that post to report it — pick the issue type that fits best (Spam, Inappropriate content, Harassment or abuse, Misinformation, Off-topic, or Other) and briefly explain what's wrong. A report goes straight to the admin team; you won't see who else has reported the same post, and the person you reported won't be told who reported them.

What happens after a report

An admin reviews every report. Depending on what they find, they may remove the post, remove the member's account, or dismiss the report if no action is needed. We don't guarantee a specific outcome or timeline, but every report is looked at.

Consequences

Most first issues start with the content simply being removed. Repeated or severe violations — harassment, hate speech, or anything that makes the community unsafe — can lead to account removal, at admin discretion. We'd rather have a smaller, safer community than a larger, hostile one.
